Obstacle Course-Older Children

  • supplies vary based on preferences: a hard cover book, hula hoop, bowl, markers/marbles, pillows, pipe cleaners/yarn

Make up a bunch of tasks for players to do in sequence. Have them be something energetic like spinning around & jumping jacks or something that takes focus and concentration like walking with a book on your head. There are some examples of courses below with very few supplies that you could mix and match!
Make sure you time each player to make it a race against players or have one player try to beat their own time to keep the game going!
You can make this as easy or complicated as you want! We've given an idea here, but be sure to get creative and add your own twists to what we've outlined below!

1:
10 jumping jacks
Walk with a book on your head to the other side of the room
hula hoop 5 times
Crab/bear/one leg walk
Have 10 of something (marbles, markers, etc.) and pick them up one at a time and put them in the bowl

2:
Spin around 3 times
Pretend to be a cat/dog to the other side of the room
Push a pillow/ball with your nose from one end to the other
Hula hoop 5 times
Long jump over 5 pipe cleaners
