Bucket Toss Backyard Golf

What you need:

  • Beanbags, soft foam balls, or balls of socks
  • Buckets, laundry baskets, or large cardboard boxes
  • Pieces of cardboard, or paper to mark “golf tees”

Turn your back yard into a mini 'golf' course, using buckets and bean bags to help your children develop hand eye cooridination, fine motor control, and more.

How to play this activity:

  • Step 1: Set up your “golf holes” by placing the buckets, baskets or boxes around your backyard space. If you don' thave a backyard, you can set up in your living room, hallways or other available spaces.
  • Step 2: Set up paper markers on the floor to mark “golf tees” where you throw from.
  • Step 3: Have your children, take turns standing on each golf tee and tossing a beanbag or ball underhand into the bucket, basket or box.
  • Step 4: Continue tossing at each hole until each child sinks one shot. Go around the circuit of “golf holes” and keep track of how many tosses each child requires to sink a shot at each hole.
