Metallic Robot Gourds

What you will need:

  • Mini pumpkins, gourds, butternut squash
  • Metallic gold and silver spray paint for the robot color
  • If you want to add additional colour you can paint the nuts and bolts either with acrylic paint or coloured spray paint.
  • Variety of hex nuts, bolts and screws, felt scraps, googly eyes, even recycled bottle tops or the tops from cans of soda.
  • Hot glue gun

Take advantage the fall season, by buying some mini pumpkins, gourds and squash and have your children let their creative spirit go with these metallic robot decorations.

How to assemble:

  • Step 1. Spray paint your pumpkins and gourds. Allow to dry completely.
  • Step 2. Spray paint or use acrylic paint to cover the nuts and bolts if your children would like them to be coloured.
  • Step 3. Have your children plan and create their own design process on how they would like their robot to look like.
  • Step 4. Once their creative plan has been decided, with adult supervision,  use the  hot glue gun to apply the parts.

You can put the completed robots on your Thanksgiving table and then transfer them to put in your window for a fun Halloween window display.
