Oreo Ornament Cookies

Materials

What you need:

  • Oreo Sandwich Cookies (flavours of your personal choice)
  • 2 cups white chocolate candy melting wafers
  • 8 ounce package Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Minis (or mini rolos if there are food allergies)
  • Sprinkles, M&M's Minis, sanding sugars, edible silver or gold balls

Preparation

What could be easier and more fun than dipping Oreo cookies in melted chocolate and adding your own decorations to create an edible ornament? This is fun for every member of your family!

How to assemble:

  • 1. Melt the candy wafers in a microwave safe bowl in 25 second intervals to avoid burning (chocolate will continue to melt even out of microwave)
  • 2. With a fork, dip the Oreo into the melted white chocolate and tap slightly to get all of the excess candy to drip off. Place on a foil lined baking sheet.
  • 3. While chocolate is still warm, press a mini peanut butter cup to the side of the Oreo. (Use mini rolo if there are allergy concerns).
  • 4. Before chocolate hardens, decorate your ornaments by shaking the sprinkles of your choice onto the Oreo. Use M&Ms, edible silver balls or other seasonal decorations.

Allow cookies to completely set before serving.Do not refrigerate as sometimes this discolors the candy.

If you are planning on dropping off holiday treats to family members you are not seeing, put some of these in a tin or cellophane and you have a great gift idea.
