Peppermint Bark

What you need:

  • 12 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 12 oz. white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
  • 8 candy canes, crushed

This year your family may not be having your annual holiday visits, but that should not stop you from getting into the holiday fun with this festive treat.

It is easy to make and guaranteed to fly out of your festive basket or holiday platter.

How to assemble:

  • Step 1: Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with wax paper. Spread 1/3 of the peppermint candy over bottom of lined pan.
  • Step 2: Melt the milk chocolate in the microwave in 25 second intervals to avoid burning. (chocolate will continue to melt). Pour the melted chocolate over peppermint candy in the prepared pan. Sprinkle another 1/3 of the candy on top of the milk chocolate. Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes.
  • Step 3: Melt the white chocolate in the microwave in 25 second intervals to avoid burning. (chocolate will continue to melt). Pour the melted chocolate over peppermint candy in the prepared pan. Sprinkle another 1/3 of the candy on top of the white chocolate. Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes.
  • Step 4: Refrigerate until the white chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes. Cut or break into pieces to serve.
