Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

What you will need:

  • 1 box of a cake mix of your choice (brand and flavour is your choice).
  • 30 - 36 flat bottom ice cream cones
  • 1 container of store bought icing (brand and flavour is your choice).
  • Optional: Assorted sprinkles or cake decorations.

This fun twist on making cupcakes that can be done with your children on a rainy day, for a stay at home birthday party, or just any day to have some fun in the kitchen! The best part is very little prep as you will use store bought mixes for this cake.

How to assemble:

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F. Make cake batter as directed on box. Fill 12 cones about half full of batter. Stand cones in muffin pan to stabilize. Refrigerate any leftover batter until ready to fill and bake remaining cones.
  • Step 2: Bake 21 to 26 minutes or until toothpick carefully inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • Step 3: Frost with frosting and decorate. Store loosely covered.

Tip: You can create the cream swirl if you have a cake decorating tips or you can put the icing in a Ziploc bag, close tightly and cut a corner off the bag creating your own piping bag.
