Add extra bananas to your weekly grocery shop this week, to create this fun and tasty frozen Halloween at home treat.
How to assemble:
- Step 1: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut each banana in half length wise. Skewer each banana half with a lollipop stick and freeze until firm, at least 2 hours.
- Step 2: When bananas are frozen, use a coffee mug to melt the chocolate. Melt chocolate in microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring until the chocolate is melted and soft.
NOTE: chocolate will burn, and will also continue to melt once removed from microwave.
- Step 3: Dip the bananas one at a time into the chocolate. Scrap off the excess chocolate from the back of the banana, and place on the line cookie sheet. Add the chocolate chip or candy eyes and work quickly as chocolate hardens fast.
- Step 4: Return to freezer until completely harden.
Plate and enjoy!
Optional preparation ideas:
For a less sweet option you can use Greek yoghurt as the topping. Same dipping method, and then freeze.
You can use raisins or currents for the eyes.
