Blueberry Smoothie

What you will need:

  • 1/2 cup nonfat or 1 percent low fat milk
  • 1/2 cup non fat plain yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Blueberries contain iron, magnesium, and potassium, they also reduce pain, are anti-inflammatory agents and increase the production of dopamine, which is the brain's feel-good chemical. They are seasonal so when you find them fresh or can pick them yourself, time to make smoothies. Other times of the year, frozen will work perfectly.

Here is a smoothie recipe you can adapt to your own liking or try it as is.

Add all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth to your liking.

*Frozen fruit makes for a thicker smoothie. If you use fresh, you may want to add some ice to create the thickness.
