Fruit Roll Ups

  • Fruit of your choice (about 3 cups)
  • Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries
  • Sweetener of your choice: Honey, stevia, maple syrup or sugar (2-3 tbsp)
  • Lemon juice (2 tbsp)

In the summertime fresh fruit is easy to find. In the winter, some modifications may be needed for this recipe. Here is an easy way to make a healthier version of this fun candy treat, that only needs three ingredients.

How to make:

  • Step 1: Blend all the ingredients in a food processor or blender until it’s as smooth as can be.
  • Step 2: line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour the blended fruit mixture onto the lined pan, then spread it out with a spoon or spatula.  It should be as thin as possible without forming holes, about ⅛ – ¼ inch thick.
  • Step 3: Set your oven to the lowest temperature setting (between 150-180 degrees). Bake in oven for 4 - 6 hours. The temperature you dry it at determines how long it will take. You will know it is ready when the middle is no longer tacky to touch.
  • Once cooled, cut the fruit into 1 inch strips keeping the parchment on. Roll up the fruit and secure with a string or tape.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. It will last even longer if you add a paper towel in the container, which will help absorb moisture.

*If you have a dehydrator you can use that for the drying out step of the process.
