  • Strawberries
  • Apples (green or red)
  • Cream cheese or icing
  • Chocolate chips, pomegranate seeds
  • Bamboo skewers

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a staple book on most children's bookshelves. It is a wonderful story of growth and development on the life journey of a caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly.

We have all grown and changed during this time in our lives, Your children may be feeling the challenge of the growth. We all need to be reminded that everything is a process.

How about a fun way to create a fun food exercise of creating fabulous caterpillars and then enjoying eating them.

Create your own versions of the very hungry caterpillar or just your own caterpillar by putting the grapes onto the skewers and use the strawberries for the head.

Decorate the eye with the icing or cream cheese and the chocolate chips or pomegranate seeds.

If you still have the Hungry Caterpillar in your home library, you can read the story or create your own before your children enjoy their homemade treat.
